H o [tc]h ki e ſs [long s small s] - the fact that the tail goes forward on the middle h - it doesn't look at all like a secreatary hand y.

Note: Julian calendar year starts March 25 while Gregorian starts January 1. England officially used the Julian calendar until 1752.

Translation:

On the day Roger appeared, [the will] was proved, in Alveley. It was then discovered [that]

three[hundred] roses cost to Margaret's pastures and roses [had resulted from] grazing [through a] trench.

He swore Ranches-Rd [sheep] were grazing, Roger's roses and pastures [by] trench.

by the said donors sworn in the church, he cleared the culverts and the house

in public he proved [the matter] of the pasture, stamped his feet, and appeared in his coat

in the said one trench pasture, the said village in one year, 13

Parcel penalty #21 is xiii d 1 yea with which they fence the pasture supplements

The pasture, of viii Henry's reign xvii odu penalty pc.*

and afterwards the judge appeared, publicly cleared the aforesaid [matter]

Mat Simonis RC

Note: * ^02 means scribes note 2. odu means overdue, again scribes note. This is the penalty if the fence isn't done in a year.

Note: Margaret would be either Roger’s grandmother or his wife. He apparently had a nasty set of neighbors.
