Richard was born about 1456 in Shropshire, England, the son of Richard Hotchkiss / Hodgkins but his mother is unknown.

He died about 1535. The place is not known.

His wife was Margery. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Henry (c1476->1540), Vincent (c1478-?), Seth (c1479-c1539) and Thomas (c1485-<1534).

This final probate entry completes a multi-location estate trail—linking Everdon, Steventon, and West Bromwich—and secures Richard’s role as the founding figure of the Northamptonshire-Staffordshire Hotchkiss branch.
