Description:
Acknowledgement that Henry son of Ranlyn Hoghwyk and Katerine his wife have delivered to Sir Richard Hoghton the evidences concerning lands in Hoghwyk "the queche were layed by Sir Rauff his brother unto the prior of Penwortham for xxiiis.iiiid!
Date: 8 Nov. 1448
Held by: Lancashire Archives, not available at The National Archives
Language: English
Notes: This appears to be a formal transaction involving land in Hoghwyk, but probably something more like a lease of some of the land, rather than the outright sale of the manor. The Prior of Penwortham seems to have held the evidences [title deeds] as a trusted intermediary until the arrangement with Sir Richard Hoghton was completed.
