His wife was Ann Wright, who he married on 14 MAR 1822 in Halesowen, Worcester, England. Their fourteen known children were Mary (1822-1887), James (1823-1824), Ann (1825-?), John (1826-?), Phoebe (1827-?), Ellen (1829-1847), Henry (1831-1867), James (1833-1905), Thomas (c1835-1872), William (1837-1910), Susan (1838-?), Felix (1840-1873), Samuel (1843-?) and Joseph (1846-1932).

Hi Rex,
My 3xGreat grandfather, Thomas Hotchkiss/Hodgkiss, was born in Bilston, Staffordshire c.1802. He married Ann Wright in 1822 in Halesowen. They had 14 children.
Mary 1822-1887, James 1823-1824, Ann 1825- , John 1826- , Phoebe 1827- , Ellen 1829-1847, Henry 1831-1867, James 1833-1905, Thomas 1834-1872, William 1837-1910, Susannah 1839- , Felix 1840-1873, Samuel 1843- , Joseph 1847-1932.
They lived in Netherton, nr Dudley, Worcestershire. I know they possessed some property in the area, including the Castle Inn and butchers premises. And they were said to be quite affluent.
Thomas died in 1874 and in his will he left everything to his wife. He was buried in St. Andrews church yard in Netherton.
I did ask a professional genealogist to search for me but she couldn't find any definitive links to any family in the area.
I know a lot of baptisms were conducted at St. Leonards in Bilston but I found nothing conclusive.
I've found a family tree on Ancestry that suggests that Thomas' father was called Thomas and that he was born in 1733 in Guildford and that he died in 1832 - aged 99. I've totally ignored it as a) I don't believe the family came from Guildford and b) I can't believe that he lived to be 99. There are no sources to prove it either.
Any help or advice would be gratefully accepted.
