Hotchkiss, of Hoxwood

The pedigree of this family was entered at the Heralds’ Visitation of Shropshire in 1663, as follows: —

I. William Hotchkis, of Hoxwood in the County of Salop, descended in direct line from tHotchkiss of Hoxwood to whom these Arms were given by Richard III.

II. Richard Hotchkis, of Hoxwood, died circa ann. 1638. He married Cecilia daughter of Thomas Littleton of Stoke Milburg in co. Salop, esq,., and had issue three soms and four daughters,….

Note: The problem here is that there are several children born to John or Johis in Worthen, in the 1570’s, which can’t belong to our John since the source said she would be the sole heir of John Northwood of Northwood in Shropshire. There are deaths of Johis or John Northwood/Norwood in Worthen in 1587, 1595, and 1601, as well as in Stottesdon in 1568, so we have to leave their most likely father out of our choice. It seems the earliest John in Stottesdon is more likely to be her grandfather and the 1587 chould be our John and he would have adequate time to raise her. That leaves the others as more likley for the boys father and also having time to raise them. So this is my best guess.
