Notes

Note 1

!Note: Unfortionately, Cornelius’s move from Shropshire to Stirlingshire means that he is likely to have met Janet in places farther from home than normal and Janet Stewart was actually a very common name in Scotland at that time with matches in the thousands, although not in Shropshire even though there were Stewarts in Madely from a very early time. Looking at their son’s names, it looks like they may have been following Scotish naming traditions. Searching for Janet Stewart with mother as Helen and father John, Michael, or Richard to match Scotish naming conventions yeilds only the following record. Even leaving out the father’s name all togther, but keeping Helen as the mother’s name, only adds one record from Banff which seems an unlikely match. However, the much of the area in Scotland where are familiy first lived is now part of Falkirk and considering Corrneleus grandfather’s name matched Janet’s father’s name, The following seems to match location and is at least close to naming convention, and I believe it is correct.
