!Notes: Began elementary school at St. Mary's Parochial School in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, before his family moved to Rockford, Illinois, where he attended and graduated from St. Patrick School.
!P: John has been employed by Western Union Telegraph Company for thirty two years. He began as an installer, and progressed through Assistant Froman, Installations, and Assistant Inspector to Staff Supervisor, Installations. He has installed co
mmunication and microwave transmission central office equipment, including service on the first satelite system in the United States, called "Westar."
!P: John served with the U. S. Navy in World War II, from 1944 to 1946. He was a Signalman, in Small Boats Amphibius Forces in the European Section. He was in the Navy Reserves V-6 from 1946 to 1958.
!P: One of John's hobbies is painting plaster figurine lamps and statues, some of which he has sold. He also builds model railroads.
