She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was William Young, who she married in ABT 1823. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Thomas (c1824-1900).

Her second husband was William Penman, who she married on 8 DEC 1828 in Larbert, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Their eight known children were Alexander (1830-?), Ann Philp (1832-1894), Mary (1834-?), Margaret Janet (1837-1912), Janet (1839-?), Helen (1841-?), William (1842-?) and James (1845-1898).
