His wife was Mercy Watts, who he married on 31 MAY 1688 in Bristol, Rhode Island. Their seven known children were Joshua (1689-1781), Elizabeth (1691-1701), Mary (1694-?), John (1696-1773), Samuel (1699-1765), Josiah (1701-1774) and Elizabeth (1707-1763).
